MECASOLAR installs 100 kW trackers for a solar plant in Gallikos, northern Greece, near Thessaloniki. The facility, supplied by PROINSO from Spain, was installed in Greece within a short period of time and quickly started up. This action forms part of MECASOLAR´s goal to continue its expansion in Greece and to meet the demands of MECASOLAR´s Greek customers from there.
The forecasts for 2009-2011 are to address a supply of a total of 30 MW. On another important note; MECASOLAR also opened a production facility in September-MECASOLAR Hellas-to manufacture 2-axis trackers in Greece, enabling them to be directly supplied from Greece.

In November 2007, MECASOLAR began building Europe's largest photovoltaic solar power plant with dual-axis solar trackers. The photovoltaic solar power plant to be built by OPDE will be 22 MWp, thus requiring 2,000 MECASOLAR MS TRACKER 10+ model trackers. All trackers are 11 kWp and will incorporate 3 single-phase Sunny Boy 3300 inverters with a three-phase connection. More than 400 trackers, for a total power of 4 MW, have been installed in the plant as of the date of the news brief, which demonstrates how quickly the engineering, construction and installation work is being executed for this project. This plant will start up prior to September 2008, under RD 661/2007. With this new contract, MECASOLAR has received more than eight thousand tracker orders (88 MWp) for the first half of 2008.
